Help & User Guide

Virtual Vehicle MD is the tool for helping service advisors sell needed vehicle repairs & maintenance services to their customers.

When customers visualize what they are purchasing, the decision to spend that money becomes much easier. When a service is explained fully, either at the time of the initial sale or when the vehicle is collected and the service paid for, customers leave feeling more comfortable with the service they have received and are much more likely to return again.

This is a basic outline of the mechanics of using the website. For additional information, please don't hesitate to call or email us.

Home Page / Account Update

After entering your username and password, your screen will look similar to the picture on the right.

The links at the top of the page give you a basic overview of the site, and ways to contact us to provide feedback, get password resets, etc.

To update your account information, including changing your password, click on the link labeled "My Account" found on the right side of the screen.

After clicking on "My Account", your screen should look similar to the picture on the left.

You may change any of the information found here, except for the username (which can only be changed by contacting us). You may also change the language the site is viewed in.

Once your changes have been made, click the "Save Changes" button, or click "Cancel" if no changes were needed.

Viewing Animations

The Virtual Vehicle MD site is full of animations that will help your customers fully understand the problems that occur with their vehicles and the services you provide to solve them. In order access these animations, click on the desired component in the component list on the main page. A vehicle system page will be displayed after a component is selected.

The picture on the left is an example of a vehicle system page. This was found by clicking on "Engine" in the component list. Any of the blue circles can be clicked, which will reveal a specific component. By hovering your mouse pointer over the blue dot, you are able to tell what the name of that component is.

The animation shown on the right was found by clicking the blue link labeled "Timing Belt”. On most component pages like this, there are text links, at the bottom of the page, to show defects/failures that can occur with this part.

Many animations require input from the user to make an action happen. This gives the service advisor opportunity to explain the animation at his/her own pace. Examples of input buttons are found on the left.

Navigation Bar / Animations by Email

The bar at the top of each animation window allows you to navigate around the site, change the language of the labels, send feedback or suggestions and most importantly, send links to the animations to your customer.

The "Home" button, found on the left of the navigation bar, returns you to the main menu. On any component page (everything past the system overview page) there will also be a link that returns you to the main page for the system you are working on.

Typing a part name into the Search box and pressing "go" will give you a list of possible components.

The "Send a Link" button brings up a page from which you can send links to any animation to your customers email address. (This also makes a convenient way of collecting customer email addresses for your marketing purposes!)

The first step in sending the email to your customer is to enter their email adress in the "Send To" box.

Click the drop down menu in the "Select Parts" box, and select the system for which you want to send a link.

All the animations associated with that system will now appear. Select the animations you wish to send.

If you wish to send animations for multiple systems, just click again on the select parts drop down menu, select a different system, and check the animations you want from there.

Write a note to your customer, and press Send. Remember, the note that you write here is the text that will show up in the body of the email.

Your email will show up in your customer's inbox. If your email address is entered into your profile (see "Account Update" above to check) that email address will be displayed as the sender in the customer's email. Otherwise the email will be labeled from info@virtualvehiclemd.com
